Nature phenology fall programs begin Sept. 18

EVELETH — The Eveleth Public Library’s Northwoods Nature Phenology fall programs begin on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. John Latimer, a nationally recognized phenologist, will present “Be Observant! Phenology in the Northland.”

Latimer has been keeping records of seasonal changes in plant and animal life in our region for more than three decades. He hosts the weekly Tuesday morning Phenology Report on Grand Rapids radio station KAXE 91.7. In addition to his own observations of nature, he includes the weekly observations of school children and adults throughout northern Minnesota.

The program is free and open to public. Children under 13 need to be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 218-744-7499. The library is located at 614 Pierce St. in Eveleth.
