Ron was born to Carl and Vienna (Leinonen) Seinola on December 4, 1936 in Cook, MN. Ron was raised in Angora and attended school in Alango, graduating from Alango High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Zgaynor on November 2, 1957 in Greaney, MN.

Ron and Shirley were life-long residents of Cook living in the same residence on Johnson Road Extension for almost 60 years. During the last 18 months, Ron and Shirley have resided in Rochester. From 1982 until his retirement in 2001, he worked in electrical maintenance at the Potlatch Oxboard Plant in Cook. Ron was active in the community and served as a Cub Scout leader in the early to mid-1970. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cook. Ron collected coins of all types for many years. He was also an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish, especially with his grandsons. He also helped his wife Shirley with planting and tending to their many flowerbeds at their residence. Ron was skilled at building, constructing and fixing almost anything, especially his trusty “Dodge Power Wagon” which he used to plow snow.  Ron loved his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandsons at family get-togethers at “The Camp” where he did various chores to maintain the buildings, trails, and a myriad of deer stands. He always had his grandsons at his side as they grew up lending an ear to questions or concerns and offering advice, and on many evenings, playing bingo with the family.

He is survived by his beloved Wife: Shirley of Rochester, MN; Daughter: Jody Seinola Dearth of Rochester, MN; Son: Scott (Geri) Seinola of St. Charles, MN; Grandsons: Daniel Dearth of Rochester, MN; Benjamin (Rebekah) Seinola of Winona, MN; and Jared (Hannah) Seinola of Dover, MN; Great-Granddaughter: June Marie Seinola; Sister-in-Law: Beverly (Wally) Helmbrecht of Blaine, MN.
