Celebrate Curious George at MRC on February 28

VIRGINIA – Mesabi Range College students enrolled in the Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education A.A.S. Degree program, in cooperation with the Mesabi Alumni Association, will celebrate 75 years of creativity and critical thinking as they host a birthday party for the beloved character, Curious George. The event—which is free and open to the public—will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 3 – 5:30 p.m. at the commons area at Mesabi Range College in Virginia. Young children need to be accompanied by their parents/guardians.

Curious George is a monkey who explores the world and all of its wonders along with the “Man in the Yellow Hat.” His creators, Margret and Hans Rey, who narrowly escaped capture during World War II with the German invasion of Paris, have sold over 75 million copies and their stories have been translated into the following languages: Yiddish, Afrikaans, Braille, Japanese, French, Portuguese, Swedish, German, Chinese, Danish and Norwegian.

The event will include reading, games, activities and just being “curious.”

Mesabi Range College is located at 1001 Chestnut St. in Virginia.
