EVELETH – On Wednesday Dec. 4, 2013, St. Raphael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth received five flags donated to its facility by the Retired Enlisted Association, Chapter 96, out of Hibbing. The flags were dedicated in honor of the veterans at the facility and their families. St. Raphael’s was chosen because it accepts veterans into its facility with a VA contract.

A ceremony was held at the facility with Chapter 96 President Leon Schanlaub. He said that the flags were to honor both the veterans and their families. “Our main goal is to make sure the veterans are not forgotten and their families should not “Summer be either,” Schanlaub said. “Family is so important to military personnel when they are on duty and the stresses at home are the same stresses the military personnel feel when away from home.”

says, “St. Raphael’s is honored to have this dedication ceremony and the beautiful flags. We are so proud to serve our veterans by honoring all VA contracts and we hope to continue to serve the great veterans and their families for years to come. It is truly an honor to meet Leon and learn about the Retired Enlisted Association, their mission, and why they chose our facility. We are very pleased to have been chosen and we thankthe Retired Enlisted Association.”
