HIBBING - The 41st annual Association of University Women used book sale is scheduled for Feb. 3-5 at the Irongate Plaza in Hibbing on Highway 169. VIRGINIA - The art work of eight Hibbing Community College Students who are completing the Fine Arts Program will be presented at the First Stage Gallery in Virginia. HOYT LAKES The Mesabi Family YMCA is holding its third annual Fishin’ Frenzy Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., at Whitewater Lake in Hoyt Lakes. VRMC to hold diabetic program on foot care
VIRGINIA - The Diabetes Center at the Virginia Regional Medical Center is offering a special diabetic educational program. Marc Westerberg, Certified Orthotist, will discuss the important aspects of foot care for people with diabetes. Minnesota deer harvest declines 7 percent in 2011
ST. PAUL - Lower deer populations and a windy first weekend of the firearms season resulted in Minnesota’s deer harvest dropping 7 percent in 2011, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Minnesota hunters harvested 192,300 deer during the 2011 season, a drop of 15,000 from the 207,000 deer harvested in 2010. Full Story
