Hey All! How’s
September faring for
you?
Exquisitely moving into a new season with slight effort and
ease I hope! Changing
of seasons can send some people into a frantic frenzy. Having worked out and worked in health clubs for many years, I know that for a lot of people this time of year is one of the, “I gotta start [or get back into] an exercise program” mode! And all I can say is that if you haven’t started one yet...start it, and if you keep waffling on your physical duty to yourself...stop it! Really, find the balance, find the solution, and get to the source of the waffle people, and I’m not talking the Belgian kind either, even though they are my favorite kind of waffle, and I haven’t had one in over 10 years since being wheat-free. (See wheatfree Belgian waffle recipe below - I have to check this out!)
Anyway, back to the solution (the physical solution). There are ways to get your body moving. The all or nothing rule to exercise is definitely a set-up to do nothing. So, all I can say is begin slowly. Listen to your body. Start a few minutes a day or maybe exercise every other day. Mix it up always. Find someone to do it with you. Do your kids and dogs a favor, take them for a walk. Kids take your parents for a walk. Take a class. Do a workout DVD such as yoga, dance, boxing, boot camp training, or master butt calisthenics! Get a program going at a health club and change it up if you’re bored or it’s not working for you. Ask a personal trainer or a fitness consultant or health practitioner to help you, especially if you have any limitations due to injury, etc. Always ask and keep asking until you find what you enjoy, before health issues set in or worsen. You will thank yourself. And please...none of this waiting until the New Year stuff either; the time is ripe now! If you have any health topics, health success stories or a family recipe for a health cure, please email me at juls11@ peoplepc.com or drop it off at Hometown Focus. Thanks for your support!

Are you gluten-free, Wheat-free?
I was born with a wheat allergy which diminished over time, but then returned in my adult life. I am forever obtaining new information about this pesky intolerance. I have read there is at least 1 in 100 people who suffer from this situation. Also, some people have extreme cases known as Celiac Disease. If any of you that are on a gluten-free, wheat-free diet or have any information or experiences to share which may help others, please feel free to email me at juls11@peoplepc. com. Thank you!
