Salvation Army matching fund drive for Hunger Awareness
VIRGINIA - September is Hunger Awareness Month. The Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless organization has challenged The Salvation Army – Virginia Corps to a matching fund drive for our food shelf and supper club.
“Every day families come to us for food or a hot meal at The Salvation Army. In just the last year, our Food Shelf gave out about 1000 food baskets, and our Supper Club program has served over 11, 000 hot meals,” said Major LaVonne Fones who is a new Corps Officer.
“The Salvation Army cannot do this alone. We need your help to help others. Please consider making a donation of money to help us with our matching fund drive. Please help us in ‘doing the most good,’ to help your neighbors. Thank you and God bless you,” Fones said.
