Book Fair Planned at Roosevelt Elementary

VIRGINIA - The Roosevelt Elementary School is pleased to announce their upcoming Fall Scholastic Book Fair. This event has the double benefit of getting books into kids’ hands, while proceeds go to support the school library.

Promoting good reading habits is something the Virginia School District takes seriously. All indications are that the district’s efforts are paying off. According to the recently released MCA State testing results, Virginia students ranked #1 in the region on reading scores, and well above the state average.

The Book Fair will be held in the school’s Library / Resource Center on September 9th & 10th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., September 13th from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and September 14th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.. The public is invited to shop the Book Fair during these hours and can enter the Roosevelt building at Door 14. In addition, the Book Fair will be open from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2nd as part of the school’s Open House. A variety of quality books will be available, from preschool to adult, including many suitable to give as gifts.
