Emil is too frail to cook.
Emil has Meals on Wheels (MOW) delivered to his home, providing a nourishing meal daily. Because Emil’s meal is delivered to his home, it is an opportunity for someone to check on his well-being. For some homebound seniors, this may be their only form of human contact during the day. AEOA’s Senior Services provided over 600,000 nutritious meals to over 8,000 seniors last year. Full Story
Book Fair Planned at Roosevelt Elementary

Teen photo contest winners announced
VIRGINIA - The Virginia Public Library is happy to announce the winners of the “Make a Splash” Teen Photo Contest. To fit the summer program theme, all submitted photos focused on the theme of water. Entries were accepted in two categories -- enhanced and not enhanced images. The top three entries will be entered in a regional photo contest sponsored by the Arrowhead Library System. Full Story

Making a Splash at Virginia Public Library
VIRGINIA - This summer more than 470 children participated in Virginia Public Library’s “Make a Splash” summer reading program. These children were part of a whopping total of 736 children who also participated in the St. Louis County Fair Reading Program, the Teen Program, and Reading with Chia. Full Story

Gallery reception and exhibit at MRC
The public is invited to a Gallery Reception and Exhibit of recent paintings by Teresa Chudzik, Kathryn Dague, Verna Laine and Sandra Sellars on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 3-6 p.m. at Mesabi Range College, Virginia Campus, in the Library Art Gallery.
The exhibit runs through October 7 and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full Story
