Swimming Lake Superior has special meaning
On the morning of August 7, 2010 I stepped into Lake Superior ready to race 299 other swimmers in a grueling competition across the channel from Bayfield, Wisconsin to Madeline Island, a course officially listed as being 2.1 miles long. The weather was pleasant with little wind and a surface water temperature as high as it’s been since records have been kept for Lake Superior. Full Story
