Bathtub Calcium Deposits
Bathtub calcium deposits are literally the stains that form around the bathtub from time to time and look like rust. Hard water contains a number of minerals and the calcium is left behind when the water evaporates during your bath.
Bathtub Calcium Solutions
There are two potential solutions. The first is the manufactured cleaning products that are readily available on the market. These work to varying degrees. Some barely touch the calcium deposits whereas others are considered harsh enough to damage your bathtub. You do not need to take that risk if you use natural substances instead.
You will need white vinegar, lemon juice and a pumice stone, as well as rubber gloves, to remove bathtub calcium deposits. The vinegar and lemon juice are highly acidic and will break down the calcium naturally by balancing the pH. You will have to scrub it to remove all of the deposits but the pumice stone is naturally coarse without causing any damage. This remedy achieves the best possible balance for you.
Get three gallons of white vinegar, plug the bath and pour it all in. Leave overnight and then use the pumice stone to remove the stains the next day. Rubbing it gently will bring the deposits right off.
If you have a fiberglass bath then you should not use a pumice stone. Use a natural bristled scrubbing brush.
