Figure skaters present “A Night at the Oscars”

The Ice Delights synchronized skating team will perform at the Virginia Figure Skating Ice Show Friday and Saturday. Skaters are: front, l. to r.: Kiersten Jackson, Kimberlyn Plunkett, Amy Cimperman, Haley Schaefbauer, Sydney Souder, Sara Stubbs. The Virginia Figure Skaters will present their annual ice show on Friday, Mar. 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Miners Memorial Arena in Virginia. This year’s theme is "A Night of Music at the Oscars,” and the show will also host national-level U.S. guest skaters.

The show will feature 120 area figure skaters and the synchronized skating team The Ice Delights.

The Ice Delights finished their season with two first places at the Open Juvenile division of the Duluth Northland Competition and the Moorhead Red River Valley Figure Skating Classic.

Guest skaters for the ice show are 2009 Junior National Pair Champions Tracy Tanovich and Michael Chau, and United States National Competitor Daniel Raad.

Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. Admission is free for children five and under. Tickets will be sold at the door. For advance tickets call 218-748-7506.
