Spectrum announces Carefree Living of Cook open house

Spectrum Health Company will have an Open House of their new 34-bed Carefree Living building in Cook from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 8 at 151 4th Street SE, in Cook. The assisted living and memory care facility will employ 20-25.

Spectrum Health Company is based in Eveleth, MN, and has extensive experience in home care, assisted living and memory care. Spectrum’s branch companies provide health and personal care services for people of all ages in all types of residential settings and has 500 employees in 12 Minnesota communities, including Brainerd, Burnsville, St. Cloud, Ely and Virginia.

“We’re excited to serve the people of the Cook area and are proud to be offering good jobs in the current economic downturn,” said Jon Monacelli, Spectrum’s Vice President, Finance and Planning. The 20,000 sq. ft. facility, which has a $3.1 million budget, was designed by DJR Architects of Minneapolis. Funding came from Spectrum Health Companies and the City of Cook in the form of an IRRB infrastructure grant.

The Cook facility will be managed by Robin Pliml, RN. Pliml, who is a Cook native, has many years of assisted living and memory care experience, and is excited about the new facility in her hometown. “We hope everyone will come to the Open House and see what a wonderful place it is,” said Pliml, “and we still have rooms available!”
