A few years ago on a cold, dim, short January morning a few engaged Eveleth citizens sat around a table discussing the need to build on the sense of community in town by pulling people out of their homes to rid the feeling of cabin fever. Driven also by the opportunity to bring people from all over Minnesota to our fine community, Eveleth Patrick/Urho Community Kinship (PUCK) Days was born. Full Story

DNR seeks watercraft inspector applicants
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is looking for watercraft inspector interns to help with important work at public accesses on lakes and rivers infested with invasive species such as Eurasian watermilfoil and zebra mussels. Other duties may include assisting with access posting, conducting invasive species plant removal and other natural resource projects. Full Story
Prebeg Snowmobilers raise over $42,000 for diabetes
Virginia Regional Medical Center’s (VRMC) Diabetes Center received a generous donation from the 2010 Bush Prebeg Memorial Snowmobile Ride. The ride, held on Saturday, February 20, raised a record $42,113 with donations still coming in. Full Story
