7th annual Range of Arts celebration
The Lyric Center for the Arts presents the seventh annual Range of the Arts celebration of the arts and culture of the Iron Range. The week-long event kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 27 with the Arts International art fair at Kaleva Hall in Virginia featuring work from over 25 local ethnic and fine artists, demonstrations and hands-on projects for kids and adults to try. The art fair is free and open to the public and runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Ladies of the Kaleva and Sons of Norway will be selling coffee and sweets as well as a soup lunch. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the art fair.

• Guitar virtuoso Greg Herriges will team up
with two other musicians for the Telluric
Currents concert at 7:00 Saturday evening
in Kaleva Hall. • A performance by the Chamber Ensemble
of Minnesota’s woodwind quintet at the
Messiah Lutheran Church, Mt. Iron, 2:30
p.m., on Sunday. • The spoken word with Ely author Ray
Nargis at Words and Lyrics on Monday at
The First Stage. • A theatrical performance of “Alice’s
Adventures in Wonderland” by Small Parts Players on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon at the Upper Room, above the
Virginia Teen Center.
