Vivian Sand
Vivian Sand, 92, of Iron died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Virginia Convalescent Center.
She was born on January 16, 1918 in Eveleth to Andrew and Elida (Juntti) Maki. On February 17, 1950 she was united in marriage to Howard S. Sand in Duluth. Vivian worked for the First National Bank in Eveleth, State Bank in Virginia and was a secretary for Jones-Laughlin Mining Company. She was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church. Vivian loved living on their farm in Iron, where she enjoyed cooking, baking and made the best cup of coffee.
She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends; including her special friend, Kevin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Howard and siblings.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, Eveleth with Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Eveleth Cemetery.
