Violet H. Kokkinen
Violet H. Kokkinen, age 95, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the Guardian Angels Healthcare Center in Hibbing. She was born December 13, 1914 in Superior, WI the daughter of Michael and Carolina (Vincent) Shafer. She was married to Eero Kokkinen and worked as a homemaker.
Violet is survived by her children: Alyn Dale Kokkinen of Hibbing, and Rose Marie Sanders of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren: Ken, Sam, and Adam Kokkinen; Ron, Alan and Theresa Sanders; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eero, and her brother: Frank Shafer.
A private visitation and private service for family will be held Monday, June 21, 2010 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel in Hibbing. Reverend Bruce Dissell will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
