Steven Gary Plourde

Funeral service for Steven Gary Plourde, 47, of rural Aurora, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Hoyt Lakes with Fr. Steven Daigle officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 14, 2010  from 5-7 p.m. at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at a later date in the Hoyt Lakes Memorial Cemetery.
 
Steve died suddenly Saturday, September 11, 2010 in the White Community Hospital in Aurora.
 
He was born January 15, 1963 in Duluth, MN to Gary and Carol Ann Plourde.  Steve was a 1981 graduate of Aurora/Hoyt Lakes High School and later began his apprenticeship as a journeyman ironworker.
 
On May 11, 2000 he married Cheryl Stanek in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Steve currently worked for the Duluth Building Trades Local #512 where he recently received his 20 year pin.
 
He was a member of the Local #512 and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cabin. More than anything, Steve loved living and working on his land.
 
Survivors include his beloved wife: Cheryl,  step-children: Matt (Amanda Henry) Rollins of Waseca and Brandon (Allison Rasmussen) Rollins of Prior Lake, son: Keith of Aurora,   parents: Gary Plourde of Aurora and Carol Kinsel of Tucson, AZ,  sisters: Vicki (Wally) Johnson of Illinois,  Laura (Dale) Beron of Duluth and Julie Plourde of Jacksonville, FL,  four nephews, six nieces, one great nephew, father and mother-in-law: Ronald and Dorothy Stanek of Hoyt Lakes,  faithful companion: Jetabelle.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
