Scott Bennett, 53, formerly of Iron, MN died Sunday, March 14, 2010 in Franklin, Kentucky. Service will be held on Saturday, March 27th at the Faith United Lutheran Church at 8964 Hwy 37 in Iron, MN at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Janeva Stromberg will officiate. Arrangements are with the Range Funeral Home of Virginia.
Scott was born on October 3, 1956 to Luverne R. and Evelina E. (Pernu) Bennett in Virginia, MN. He graduated from Mt. Iron High school and attended Mesabi Community College and Tech School. He was a shovel operator at LTV Steel a member of the Union Local #4108, a Union Official and a member of Faith United Lutheran Church in Iron.
Scott is survived by 4 children: Rebecca Bennett of Indiana, Jamie Bennett of Grand Rapids, MN, Brandon Bennett of Virginia, MN, Ashley Bennett of Virginia, MN; Step Daughter: Shammra McBride, Tina mother of Brandon, Ashley and Shammra; Step-great-grandchildren: Christell and Kylee; Mother: Evelina Pernu Bennett (Martin “Skip” Hanson) of Iron, MN; Brothers and sisters: Jim Bennett of California, Renee Bennett of Virginia, MN, Michael (Jennie) Bennett of Florida,
Benita Madrid (Bill Hoel) of Washington, Shelly (David) Elsner of Iron, MN, Special cousins: Anita and Dennis; Special friends: Linda (Jim) Currie and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Brett.
