Ruth M. Cary

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl.
 
Ruth M. Cary, age 76, of Becker, MN, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at Virginia Regional Medical Center in Virginia.  She was born September 24, 1934 in Kinney, MN to Swenerd H. and Effie V. (Kujala) Neuttila. She attended the Kinney Schools and received her GED in 1977. She was an Iron Range area resident for most of her life.
 
Ruth was united in marriage on December 22, 1958 in South Dakota to Verne E. Cary Sr. She was a member of the Buhl-Kinney Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts and knitting.
 
Survivors include her children- Jerone (Luann) Rahnasto of Wuori Township, MN; Brenda (Freddie) Goodrie of Becker, MN; Bonnie Denzel of Makinen, MN; Verne Jr. (Lauri) Cary of Hibbing, MN; step-children – Linda (Rod) Kunkel of Vestaburg, MI; David (Carol) Cary of Brighton, MI; Cathy (Larry) McCoy of Wilmington, IL; Daniel Cary of Brighton, MI; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers – Raymond (Laila) Neuttila of Balkan; David Neuttila of Chisholm; sister – Lorraine Hill of Virginia, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2nd husband – Verne E. Cary Sr. on 7/31/99; 1st husband – William “Billy” Rahnasto on 3/21/55 ; daughter – Diane Halverson; brothers – LeRoy, Richard “Dickie” and Everett Neuttila.
