Robert S. Brown Jr.
Robert S. Brown Jr. died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.
He was born on January 22, 1938 in Eveleth to Robert Sr. and Martha (Weise) Brown and attended Eveleth Schools living in Eveleth and Gilbert most of his life.
Bob was past Master of the Eveleth Masonic Lodge #239 and past Worshipful Master, a member of the Gilbert Senior Citizens Club, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Biwabik Masonic Lodge #293 and past Worshipful Master, The Scottish Rite of Hibbing & Duluth 32nd Degree, the AAD Temple Shrine, the Eveleth Elks Club and past exulted ruler, and a recent member of the Eastern Star in Biwabik

Bob enjoyed bowling on teams, playing cards, golfing, and curling. Bob was the type of man you could really count on if you needed him. He had a way of making his yard look like a show place and his vehicles always shined! Bob developed a fondness for German Schnauzer Dogs and loved the two he had, Fritz and Zee.
Bob joined the Army in 1955 attaining the rank of Private First Class stationed in Germany. When he returned home, Eveleth Taconite Company employed him until his retirement in 2000. He married Audrey Jean Topping on June 24, 1988 and became a stepfather to Edward (Susan) Topping of Palo and Deborah (John) Ross-Jagunich of Eveleth. He had 10 step-grandchildren and 6 great step-grandchildren. Bob has two brothers Hank Brown of Gilbert and Richard (Marcia) Brown of Eveleth. His family and special friends Amy & Mikeal Ballard and their children Liam & Nolan of Hoquim, Washington, will sadly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Brown, half-sister, Ethel Blumberg and Sister Judy Souder.
Special thanks to the Virginia Regional Medical Center Emergency Room Staff, the Neuro Trauma-ICU Staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, and the Hospice Staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. Your caring and competence will long be remembered by Bob’s Family.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth with Pastor Amy Eisenmann of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the chapel with a 12:00 p.m. Masonic Service. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery.
