Robert Carleton Campbell
Robert Carleton Campbell, age 65, longtime resident of Hibbing died Friday, June 4, 2010 in the Fairview University Medical Center – Mesabi. He was born October 26, 1944 in Evanston, IL, the son of Robert and Alma Campbell. He graduated from Greenway-Coleraine High School and went on to receive his AA from Itasca Community College. Bob also attended UMD where he studied Speech Therapy, and Moorhead Technical College for their Culinary Arts program. He was united in marriage to Judy Savela on December 20, 1967 in Hibbing.
Bob worked in the maintenance department at Hibbing Community College, and also at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He also had managed Hardees restaurants in Duluth, Cloquet, and the M&H in Hibbing. Additionally, Bob did snow removal and lawn care. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed cutting wood and spending time in the woods and at the lake.
Bob is survived by his wife: Judy; his son: Scott (Stephani) Campbell of Hibbing; his daughter: Sheri (fiancée Mike Koos) of Hibbing; and his grandson: Austin Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Reverend Erik Holleque will officiate. Burial will be in the Trout Lake Cemetery.
