Robert Calvin Hall
Robert Calvin Hall, 85, Mt. Iron, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. Visitation will begin on Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 11:00 AM to the 12:00 NOON Memorial Service at Range Funeral Home, Virginia. Burial will be at a later date.
Robert was born September 27, 1925, in Eveleth, the son of Roy and Margaret Hall. He grew up and attended schools in Eveleth.
He was united in marriage to Doriann Burchell.
Robert began working at a very young age and worked over 40 years at Hanna Mining Co. as a mechanic. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends at the cabin at Lake Esquagama. Robert enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially for everyone at the hunting shack during deer season.Bob will be remembered as a kind, caring man, who loved his families – never complained. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved playing cards and bingo and always looked forward to trips to Fortune Bay, and making his numerous birdhouses. He found pleasure in caring for his dogs.
Bob is survived by his wife Gertrude of 40 years; 5 sons, Robert Jr. (JoAnne Santelli), William (Laura), Jim (Jennifer Pause), Daniel (Helen Amick), and Rick Hall; 2 step-daughters, Roberta and Rebecca Jacobson; 3 step-sons, James (Cheryl) Roby, Rollie and Randy Jacobson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Doriann; a step-daughter, Kathy Hart, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
