Phyllis E. Vine
Phyllis E. Vine, age 89, a resident of Hibbing, MN and formerly of Buhl, MN and Chisholm, MN died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Fairview University Medical Center Mesabi in Hibbing, MN. She was born July 6, 1921, in Chisholm, MN, the daughter of Henry and Eileen (Gustafson) LaCoursiere. She graduated from Chisholm High School in 1939. On January 13, 1944, she married William H. Vine in Hibbing, MN.
Phyllis was a homemaker. She also worked as a private secretary at the Pentagon during WWII, and later worked at the Prairie Market in Hibbing. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #1510. She enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, baking and dancing.
She is survived by two sons: Alan (Linda) Vine of Hibbing, and Ronald (Deborah) Vine of Hibbing; one brother: Royden “Bud” LaCoursiere of Hibbing; two sisters: Marilyn (Jerry) Verant of Chisholm, and Joyce Gandsey of Hibbing; four grandchildren: Lee (Teresa) Vine, Lynnele [Vine] Asserian, Leslie (Josh) Pokorny, and Cody Vine; and 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: William; and her sisters: Shirley Deatherage and Gail Graham.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, July 28, 2010 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Reverend Erik Holleque will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
