Pearl Skarp
Pearl Skarp, 94, of Virginia passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Virginia Convalescent Center in Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday September 9, 2010 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Virginia. Visitation will be one hour prior. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Virginia Convalescent Center or donor’s choice.
Pearl was born on August 13, 1916 to Swan and Hilda (Sorvito) Hapness in Eveleth, MN. She grew up in the Genoa Location and attended the Gilbert Schools. She married Robert Skarp on October 4, 1941 in Virginia at the Methodist Church. Following marriage they made their home in Virginia. Pearl was a home maker, mother, grand mother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild.
Survivors include:Daughter: Judy Norri of Mt. Iron, MN;Grandchildren: Jody (Mo) Janati, John Norri and Tracy Pulis, Kelly (Jon) LaCore; Great-Granddaughters: Mina and Ella Janati;Former son-in-law: Eric Norri of Virginia, MN; Nephew: Ralph (Lynn) Hapness; Sister-in-law Helen Backman and other nieces, nephews and friends.
A special thanks to the Virginia Convalescent Center caregivers and staff for the care they have provided for the last 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert, parents, brothers; Ralph and Roy, sister-in-law; Ruth and niece; Shelley Haasl.
