Norma Benkusky
Norma Benkusky, 102, of Virginia died peacefully on July 16, 2010 at the Virginia Convalescent Center.
Norma was born in Cornell Mi. on Feb 23, 1908 the daughter of Frank and Ida Kintner. She married William on May 16, 1929, in Hibbing, MN.
Norma enjoyed her painting of woodcrafts. She did catering for different organizations that held their meetings at the Columbia Apts. She was active in the Lincoln Grade School PTA, VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She loved her apartment (for 41 years) in the Columbia Apts., with a great view from the 2nd floor of the birds in the trees and on the lake. We want to thank all those of the Virginia Convalescents Center for the kind and caring service given to her.
Survivors are sons Bruce (Yvonne) of Marion IA; Richard (Judy) of Brooksville Fl.; Donald of Annandale MN; one daughter, Alberta (Dr. Richard) Baker of Fergus Falls MN.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Doris Leider of Virginia MN and Dorothy (Stan) Rutka of Virginia MN; Son-in-law Ward Stoneburner of Duluth MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, her daughter Marilyn Stoneburner; sister Leona Wovcha and brothers Lawrence and Clarence Kintner.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 9th, from 9:30 to the 10:30 AM Memorial Service at the Range Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery immediately following the service. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donation are made to the Virginia Foundation as a memoriam of William and Norma Benkusky.
