Nancy Lee (Salo) Underhill
Nancy Lee (Salo) Underhill, 76, Virginia, died peacefully Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Virginia Regional Medical Center.
Nancy was born July 10, 1934, in Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Kozar) Salo. She grew up, attended schools and was a cheerleader at Virginia High School, graduating in 1952.
On October 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to Don Underhill, in Duluth. After their marriage, they lived in Duluth, MN; Urbana, IL; Kendall Park, NJ; and in 1975, they made their home in Virginia.
Until her recent illness, Nancy enjoyed working for many years at the Coates Hotel in Virginia.
Nancy enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, playing cards, and was an avid Vikings fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the cabin on Lake Vermilion. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years,Don, Virginia; her two sons, Steven (Rose) Underhill, Bloomington, MN; Donald (Maureen) Underhill, Norwood, MA; and a daughter Carolyn (Chris) Ellison, Coon Rapids, MN; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, a sister Charlene Biondich, Virginia; a brother Jack (Marlys) Salo, Branson, MO; and another sister Patty Ann Collins, Ocala, FL.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter June M. Yourczek, and a sister, Lenore Robinson.
Visitation will begin on Friday, October 1, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service at Range Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family prefers friends to make donations to their favorite charities in her name.
