Maynard A. Koepke

Maynard A. Koepke, 82, of Fayal Township, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Eveleth Health Services Park. 

 He was born on March 27, 1927, in Creighton, South Dakota to William and Emelia (Sieler) Koepke. Maynard married Diane L. Constantine on June 7, 1953 in Kelsey, MN and following their marriage, they made their home on St. Mary’s Lake. Maynard worked as a drill operator for Erie Mining Company, retiring in September 1985 after 30 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed growing raspberries, apples and flowers. Maynard was a member of Fayal Golden Club.
 
He is survived by his wife, Diane and their children, Arthur (Rose) Koepke of Crookston, MN, Brenda (Rick) Roper of Eldred, MN, Dean Koepke of League City, Texas, Brian (Darla) Koepke of Mexico Beach, Florida and Steven (Rebecca) Koepke of Grand Rapids, MN; eight grandchildren, Julie Good, Jason and Todd Brault, Candi Roper, David (Brianna) Roper, Sharon (Andy) Ricklefs, Kurtis Koepke, Daisha Cesena, Zia Koepke and Gabriella Koepke; six great grandchildren; son-in-law, Ray Brault of Crookston, MN; brothers, Karl Koepke of Eveleth, Gerald “Pete” Koepke of Embarrass, MN; sister-in-law, Helen Koepke of Zim; brother-in-law, Lester Mandler of Goodland and numerous nephews and nieces.
 
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Brault; brother, Emil; sisters-in-law, Elma Koepke, Janice Koepke; sister, Betty Mandler and his parents.
 
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donald Norr as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel. Inurnment will be in Grandview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Hibbing at a later date. To sign the guest book online and to leave a memorial message, go to: www.cron-sheehy.com
