Marian Elizabeth (Ozdowski) Gaseski
Marian Elizabeth (Ozdowski) Gaseski, 89, of St. Anthony Health Center, St. Anthony, MN, formerly of Virginia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 29, 2010.
Marian was born on January 8, 1921 to Adam and Irene (Domen) Ozdowski. She grew up and attended school in Greaney, MN and went on to Virginia Roosevelt High School. On October 19, 1946, she married Charles P. Gaseski at St. John the Baptist Polish Catholic Church in Virginia, MN. In 1958, Charles and Marian purchased a cabin on Birch Point of Lake Vermillion and spent every summer there after enjoying the lake with family and friends.
She served for over 30 years as the President of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality at St. John’s Church. Marian worked at Falkowski’s Supermarket for 26 years and developed many loyal relationships with the customers and fellow employees.
She was known as an avid cook and baker, especially for her love of cooking for a crowd and entertaining others. Marian will be remembered for having a porch full of baked goods around the Holiday season and a true feast on Super Bowl Sunday.
Marian is survived by her husband, Charles, Anoka; a daughter, Irene Sieckert, Anoka; two grandsons, Paul (Meghan) Sieckert, Elk River, and Gregory Siekert, Anoka; two great-granddaughters, Natalie and Maura Sieckert, both of Elk River. Also surviving is one brother, Marcel (Betty) Ozdowski, South Weber, UT, and two sisters, Eleanor Terch, North Pole, AK, and Josephine Lupich, Virginia., and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Virginia, MN, with a visitation on hour prior to the Mass, and a lunch to follow.
