Margaret M. Hammer
Margaret M. Hammer, 85, a lifelong resident of Eveleth died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at her home.
She was born on December 20, 1924 to John and Mary (Fortuna) Hace in Eveleth, MN. Margaret was a graduate of Eveleth High School. On February 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Frederick M. Hammer at Holy Family Church in Eveleth. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. Margaret loved gardening, was an avid hockey enthusiast and her greatest joys were her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Hunt of Kenora, Ontario; son, Fred (Sandy) Hammer of Eveleth, MN.,; grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle; step grandchildren, Tracy Hunt, Tom (Esther) Hunt, Marney (Dwayne) Engelsman, John (Lisa) Hunt; sister-in-law, Rose Gradisher of Virginia, MN.; brother-in-law, Marvin (Joyce) Hammer of Ocean Park, WA; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents, grandson Matthew Hammer, son-in-law Brian Hunt and brothers John and Stanley Hace.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel in Eveleth with Rev. Fr. Charles P. Flynn as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel. Private inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery at a later date.
