Louis Joe Marasco
Louis Joe Marasco, 87, of Eveleth died February 8, 2010 at St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth.
Louis was born on October 24, 1922 in Eveleth to Francesco and Anna Maria (Marra) Marasco. He was a graduate of Eveleth High School and Eveleth Jr. College. In the early 1940’s, Louis played hockey at Hershey, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia for the American and Eastern Hockey Leagues. On September 30, 1944 he was united in marriage to Clorinda Rico. Louis worked for Erie Mining as a heavy equipment and coal bridge operator retiring in 1984. He resided in Taconite Harbor, Duluth and was a longtime Eveleth resident. Louis was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Frank A. Mancina Council, # 2583 Knights of Columbus, Eveleth Elks Lodge #1161 and the Italian American Club. He loved to golf, walk and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Tony (Bev) Marasco of Edina, Mn. and Claudia Marasco of Lewiston, New York; grandchildren, Brad (Tatiana), Lori (Isaac) and Angie; great grandchildren, Jordan and Addison; sister, Marie (John) Esposito of New York; nieces, nephews (Ronnie and the 3 Tony’s) and other relatives and many friends. At the time of his death he was survived by his sister, Jeanette Gagne of Virginia who died on June 6. 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francesco and Anna Maria, wife, Clorinda, sister, Evelyn and brother, Joe.

Memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Charles Flynn as officiant. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. before the 10:30 a.m. mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth.
