Lorna M. Johnson

Lorna M. Johnson, 71, a lifelong resident of Ely Lake, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth.
She was born on March 24, 1939 to Art S. and Esther F.(Parkkonen) Ericksen in Eveleth. Lorna was a graduate of Eveleth High School class of 1957. She was united in marriage to David L. Johnson on February 24, 1962. Lorna was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth, where she organized the funeral lunches. She was a member of the Eveleth/ Fayal Garden Club and Sons of Norway Haarfager# 40, Degree of Honor. Lorna enjoyed craft work and oil painting.
 
She is survived by her husband, David; son, Perry; sister, Nancy (Tom) Roseen; brother, Art S. Ericksen, numerous cousins in Trondheim, Norway, many who visited at the Johnson home through the years, special childhood friend, Georgi (Bates) Larson,and many other friends, including special little neighbor friends Tucker, Nathen and Blake Zadnikar, whom she loved and enjoyed, and they in return brought her much happiness.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents.
 
Lorna’s family wishes to thank her kind and caring doctors in Duluth, Dr. Robert Rutka, Dr. Stephen Hadley, Dr. Sandy Popham and her staff, Kim, Patty and Shannon; lab girls, Chris, Ingrid and Lois with the Laurentian Clinic, Virginia
 
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at United in Christ Lutheran Church in Eveleth with Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Eveleth Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to United in Christ Lutheran Church, 201 Station 44 Road, Eveleth, Mn. 55734 and Healthwell” Kidney” Foundation, P.O.
