Linda Josephine Hermanson

Linda Josephine Hermanson, 91, of Hermantown formerly of Iron passed away Thursday July 8, 2010 at the Hermantown Valley Elder Care Center. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 12:00 a.m. Pastor Peter Hopala will officiate. Burial will be at the Cherry Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Range Funeral Home of Virginia.
 
Linda was born on April 16, 1919 to Charles and Josephina (HAAPANIEMI) Sarkela in Iron, MN. She was raised in Iron and attended school in Cherry. She worked for Cherry School and Range Co-op as well as taking care of the family farm. She was raised in a hard working Lutheran family.  She passed on the appreciation of the family farm and absolute devotion to her Lord and Savior. The love of family was the joy of her life and we will always remember her timeless stories of past times, her beautiful smile and strong sisu no matter what. She was the ultimate mother, grandmother and aiti who’s support and faith will be truly missed forever.
 
 
She is survived by, Son: Ronald (Connie) Hermanson of Proctor, MN; 3 Grandchildren: Scott (Dee) Hermanson 0f Bergan, MN, Craig Hermanson of Superior, MN, Kelly Hermanson (Jeff Crosby) of Duluth, MN; Great-Grandchildren: Nathan, Karly, Macy, Bailey, Finlay and Natalya; Nieces and nephews; A very special friend: Sarah Bourcy.
 
She was precede in death by her parents; Charles and Josephina, beloved husband; Carl Hermanson, 3 brothers; Paul, John and infant brother, Roy Sarkela, 3 sisters; Mildred Luoma, Helia Maki and Lydia Zupan and Great- grandson; Dalton Hermanson.
 
In Leu of flowers, a donation to S.I.D.S. Center is appreciated.
Special Thanks to St. Luke’s, doctors and nurses, hospice nurse, Kathy and the special care given by Tim, Bobbie Jo and Georgia at the Hermantown Valley Elder Care Center.
