Lillian M. Bonkosky
Funeral service for Lillian M. Bonkosky, 88, of Gilbert, will be 11am Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Barbara Hegfors officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Gilbert Cemetery.
Lillian died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Benedictine Health Care Center in Duluth.
She was born April 20, 1922 in Cotton, MN to Aleck and Johanna (Strom) Dahlin. Lillian was a graduate of Cotton High School and later worked for John and Ellen Welch Jewelers in Virginia as a retail clerk.
On August 13, 1946 she married Votsi Bonkosky in Waukegan, Illinois. They returned to Gilbert and Lillian continued working for Welch's Jewelry. Later, she worked for John Maki Jewelry in Virginia and had 44 years of service in retail jewelry sales.
Survivors include her nieces: Joan (John) Jamieson of Santa Barbara, CA and Artell (Tony) Oswald of Houston, TX; nephew: Dan (MarySue) Dahlin of St. Paul; several great nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Votsi; brother: Fred Dahlin; sister: Edna Pikka; nephew: Stephen.
