Lawrence L. Marks
Lawrence L. Marks, 89, Babbitt, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at Ely Bloomsen Hospital.
Lawrence Lyle Marks was born September 27, 1920, in Frazee, MN, the son of Fred John and Bertha A. (Rebischke) Marks. He grew up in Frazee, and also lived in Moorhead and Perham, MN.
In 1942, he joined he U.S. Air Force during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he was united in marriage to Helen Margaret Schultz on February 1, 1947, and they made their home in the Perham. After many years, they moved to Babbitt and made their home there. He was employed for several years with Reserve Mining.
Lawrence was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and the Babbitt Senior Citizens.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela (Jerry) Rasmussen, of Virginia; two sons, David (Carole) Marks, of Embarrass, and Larry (Dawn) Marks, of Babbitt; eight grandchildren, Mike (Theresa), Mark (Kylee), and Matt Rasmussen of Virginia, Emily (Bill), Sara (Craig), and Susan of Embarrass, and Ben and Sam of Babbitt; two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Jackson; other family and friends.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen, an infant granddaughter, Jana, and a brother, Richard.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to the 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Babbitt. Burial will be in the Argo Cemetery. Range Funeral Home of Virginia is entrusted with the arrangements.
