Kathleen (Tina) Demm

Kathleen (Tina) Demm, 92, of Eveleth died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth.
 
She was born on December 15, 1917 in Eveleth to Josef Anton and Margaresha (Muvich) Drobnick. Kathleen attended Eveleth High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1935. On September 5, 1938 she married Norman Demm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they resided before and after World War II. 
 
While living in Milwaukee, Kathleen was employed by several industrial firms to include A. O. Smith and during the war years she relocated to Minneapolis where she was employed by Vincent Brass and Copper. After 1947 and the end of the war, she and her husband returned to the Iron Range where they both accepted employment by Cluett and Peabody Company, Division of Arrow Shirts located in Eveleth. Continued education and evening classes in business and office training led to employment with the Eveleth Hospital Corporation. With opening of the Eveleth Fitzgerald Hospital, Kathleen worked as a receptionist for a number of years before moving to the Virginia Regional Medical Center where she worked for 22 years until retirement. In retirement, her greatest joy was to spend time with family, friends and her grandchildren at the summer cabin at Long Lake. Retirement also involved membership in numerous community organizations, local volunteer work with time for several trips to western European capitals along with extended tours with her husband, friends and relatives to southern European locations of Italy, Slovenia and the Dalmation Coast. Community memberships included; SNPJ Lodge, Z.A.S Lodge #1, Slovenian American Women’s Union, Eveleth Does, Fayal Senior Citizens and a lifelong member of the Resurrection Catholic Church. 
 
She is survived by her son, Chas (Mary) Demm of St. Cloud; granddaughter, Gina Cristine Demm, grandson, Nicolas Andrej Demm both of Minneapolis along with numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norm; sisters, Margaret, Angeline, Ann and Mary; brothers, Frank, Joseph, Rudy, Harry and Albert.
 
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Virginia Regional Medical Center for their care and medical expertise and the staff at St. Raphael’s Health & Rehabilitation Center for their sensitive and professional care they provided Kathleen during her entire period as a resident.
 
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel in Eveleth with Rev. Fr.
