Joyce Beverly Rupp

Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Chisholm Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Erickson officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel and continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Private family inurnment will be in the Chisholm Cemetery.
 
Joyce Beverly Rupp, age 80, of Chisholm, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 surrounded by her family at Fairview University Medical Clinic – Mesabi in Hibbing.  She was born October 30, 1929 in Chisholm, MN to Gilbert O. and Myrtle I. (Johnson) Gregerson. She was a graduate of Chisholm High School class of 1947 and was a lifelong Chisholm resident.
 
Joyce was united in marriage on October 30, 1948 in Chisholm to Glenn L. Rupp. She worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Carl Brink prior to her marriage. She then became a homemaker and worked with the family business at Rupp Furniture. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was the 1st Chair in the viola section of the Mesaba Orchestra. She enjoyed knitting for Thistledew. She was a fantastic baker, especially various breads.
 
Survivors include: her husband, Glenn; children: Tom (Sandy) of Side Lake; Jim (Helen) of Chisholm; Bob (Nan) of Hibbing; Gwen (Bill) Stalker of Chisholm; Paul (Janice) of Chisholm; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister: Gloria Lackner of Chisholm; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter – Tearainy Rupp.
