She was born on March 23, 1913 in Eveleth to Nicholas A. and Anna (Buonaiuto) Constantine. Jennie was a 1932 graduate of Eveleth High School and attended Eveleth Junior College. She was united in marriage to Toivo “Jack” Rahko on June 29, 1940 in Eveleth. Jennie worked for the Cluett-Peabody Shirt Factory as a seamstress for 25 years retiring in 1975. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Margaret # 1888, National Catholic Society of Foresters and past president of St. Ann’s Society. Jennie enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo, baking, making potica, ravioli’s and gnocci’s. She loved traveling with Jack to visit family and their grandchildren. Jennie took pride in entertaining her friends and relatives, especially during the 4^th of July.

 

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Mary) Rahko of Alexandria, Mn. and Richard (Mary) Rahko of Charlotte, North Caroline; grandchildren, Darin Rahko of Tower, Mn., Natalie (Chris) Anderson of Elk River, Mn., Nick (Meegen) Rahko of Sacramento, Ca., Dan (Jody) Rahko of Charlotte, N.C., Annie (Jake) Wood of Charlotte, N.C., Sarah Rahko of Charlotte, N.C.; great grandchildren Madalyn and Owen Anderson of Elk River, Mn., A.J. Wood and Tyler Wood of Charlotte, N.C.; sister Lucy Sporter of Salem, Oregon; sister-in laws, Joleen Constatine of Eveleth, Ruth (Ken) George of Denver, Colorado and Lorraine Rahko of Raymond, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Toivo “Jack” on November 29, 1997, parents and brothers, Edward, Sandy and Ben Constantine.

 

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 30, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel in Eveleth with Rev. Fr.
