James Rodorigo

James Rodorigo, 94 of Virginia died peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, MN. Visitation will be Friday, April 9, from 5:00 to 7 PM. Rosary will be from 6:30 to 7:00 PM at the Range Funeral Home of Virginia. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 10, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. Memorials preferred to the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.

He was born on August 14, 1915 in Virginia to John and Marcelia (Aluni) Rodorigo. He grew up in Virginia and graduated from Virginia High school. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army. He married Fern Sisel on September 14, 1940 making their home in Virginia. He worked as a truck driver for the Range Paper and a salesman for WHLB radio station. He enjoyed family gatherings and cooking traditional recipes, especially porquetta. He enjoyed all Virginia sports and especially gardening, which he was known for his tomato plants and geraniums. He was an avid bowler, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
 
He is survived by his children: James (Julie) Rodorigo of Mt. Iron, MN, Thomas (Alberta) Rodorigo of Coon Rapids, MN, Robert (Liz) Rodorigo of Anoka, MN, Michael (Jackie) Rodorigo of East Bethel, MN, Kristine (Bob) Russo of Mt. Iron, MN; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by wife; Fern (Sisel), daughter; Diane, parents, brother, Joseph and granddaughter; Anette.
