James “Jim” Archie Hemming
James “Jim” Archie Hemming, age 63 of Duluth passed away August 1, 2010 at the Benedictine Health Center in Duluth, Minnesota. He was born on October 16, 1946 in Hibbing, Minnesota the son of Archie and Murriel Hemming; and was united in marriage to Ruth J. Hanson on June 8, 1968 in Chisholm, MN. Jim was a graduate of Hibbing High School and attended Bemidji State College where he received a degree in Business Education in 1971. He worked for St. Louis County as Probate Court Auditor, retiring in 1987. Jim fought a battle with Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years and was an active member of the Duluth MS Group for many years. He enjoyed golf, music, traveling, time on Ft. Myers Beach, and was an avid movie watcher. His smile and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by wife Ruth and son Bryan of Duluth; brother-in-law Ray (Linda) Hanson of Mt. Iron; sister-in-law Loretta (Darwin) Tangen of Melbourne, Florida; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Murriel.
A Gathering time for family and friends will be held Friday, August 6,2010 from 12 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd (1325 North 45th Avenue East) in Duluth. Inurnment will be in the Hibbing Park - Maple Hill Cemetery.
