Glennys Giorgi

Glennys Giorgi, age 77 of Mt. Iron passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born May 11, 1933 in Clay County near Barnesville, MN, the daughter of Hartwell and Luella (Buttenhoff) Carr. Glennys was a graduate of Barnesville High School and Moorhead State Teacher’s College. She was an elementary school teacher in Henning, MN and Mt. Iron, MN retiring in 1995 . Glennys married John D. Giorgi on July 13, 1963 in Barnesville, MNand they were married for 28 years. She was an active member of Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church, its ELCW, Quilter’s Group, Mission Sewing Group, and Martha Circle. Glennys enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing, and traveling. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
 
Glennys is survived by children: Kathy Giorgi of Virginia, Steve (Delanie) Giorgi of Mt. Iron, Brian (Missy) Giorgi of Duluth, Keith (Sandy) Giorgi of Eagan and Todd (Kris) Giorgi of Coon Rapids; grandchildren: Willie Lusti, Destry Lusti, Brianna (Nathan) Giorgi Eisenbarth, Kyle Giorgi, Arianna Giorgi, Mia Giorgi, Maddison Giorgi, and Ella Giorgi; great-grandchildren: Dalton & Rainey Lusti, and Caleb Eisenbarth; sister: June (Arlo) Olsen of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
 
Her parents preceded her in death.
 
A gathering time for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service in Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate.
