Gladys L. Orehek
Gladys L. Orehek, 91, of Eveleth died Friday, April 9, 2010, at her residence.
She was born on May 5, 1918, in Martin County, Odin, Minnesota to Herman and Josephine (Hammer) Olson. Gladys attended Martin County Schools. She had worked as a seamstress for Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Eveleth for 22 years and volunteered at the former Arrowhead Health Care Center. Gladys was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church; a former member of Esther Circle and the quilting club. She enjoyed decorating cakes, cooking, sewing, crocheting, doing crafts and liked to fish..
Gladys is survived by her children, McClellan “Mac’ (Sandi Gonzales) Patterson of Eveleth, MN, Gail (John) Lanyk of Zim,MN, Bruce (Dixie) Patterson of Wyoming, MN, Marsha (David Espinosa) Appelman of Chisholm, MN, and Kevin (Diana) Orehek of Eldorado Hills, CA; 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Patterson and Anton Orehek; brothers, a sister in infancy; son, Wayne Patterson, son-in-law, Jim Appelman and daughter-in-law, Vickie Patterson
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010, at United in Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Rova-Hegener officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Forbes Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home, Eveleth.
