Gerald Dwayne “Jerry” Mueller

Gerald Dwayne “Jerry” Mueller, age 75 of Lake Vermilion Tower died Friday, October 1, 2010 in St. Raphael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eveleth. He was born July 20, 1935 in Minneapolis, the son of George G. and Elenor (Herbranson) Mueller; attended Minneapolis Central High School and graduated from Northwestern Television and Electronics Institute. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1956; and was a National Defense Service Medal and Army of Occupation Medal recipient. He married Marilyn Lundgren on January 19, 1957 in Minneapolis and they made their home in Minneapolis and Blaine prior to moving to Lake Vermilion in 1995. Jerry was employed as an armature winder for Electric Machinery Manufacturing Company. He was a member of Nelson-Jackson American Legion Post # 245 in Tower and the Sportsman’s Club of Lake Vermilion. Jerry enjoyed photography, camping, model railroading, computers, model cars, and rock polishing.
 
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years: Marilyn; children: Victoria Roudonis of Hart MI and Gerald “Butch” (Carla) Mueller of Tower, MN; one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; brothers and sisters –in –law: Gordon (Evelyn) Lundgren of Canby, MN, Norma Lundgren of Mt. Caroll, IL, Duane (Joan) Lundgren of Apple Valley, MN and Dorothy (John) Swanson of Alexandria, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles and aunts: Walter Miller, Lawrence Miller, Elizabeth and John Kjos, Joseph Miller, Tholia and Steve Novak, Olive and Tom Monson, Beulah and Bud Laughridge; brother-in-law: Linnae Lundgren; and cousins: Donald Novak, Steve Novak, Carol Dean, and John Kjos, Jr.
 
A Gathering Time for Family and friends will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 12 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Celebration of Life Service in St. James Presbyterian Church in Tower. Bill Evans will officiate. Nelson Jackson American Legion Post # 245 in Tower will accord military Honors. Inurnment will take place in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
