Ervin Worden
Ervin Worden, 86, formerly of Buhl/Mt. Iron passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Virginia Convalescent Center. Service will be at 2:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church in Buhl on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Visitation will be one hour prior. Pastor Kristin Foster and Vicar Amber Ingalsbe will officiate.
Ervin was born on February 14, 1924 to William and Esther (Anderson) Worden in Maple Wood Township, MN. He grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls, MN and graduated from Washington High School, class of 1943.
He joined the U.S. Army May 9, 1943 and was a Veteran of WWII, 1st Calvary Division serving in the South Pacific.
He married Goldie Ann Bukovich on July 8, 1946 in Hibbing, MN. Following their marriage they made their home in Buhl, MN until moving to Mt. Iron in 1978. Ervin was a shop foreman for U.S. Steel until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Buhl and the V.F.W. Post # 8510 of Hibbing.
He is survived by one brother: Duane Worden of Coarse Grove, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Goldie on April 1, 1998; four brothers; Rex, Willard, Guy and Harry, five sisters; Mildred Rushfeldt, Bernice Jesme, Lois Molick, Inez Theil and Dorothy Nelson, and his parents.
