Elma Johanna Carlson

Elma Johanna Carlson, 88, of Eveleth, died Friday, September 17, 2010, at the Virginia Convalescent Center. 
 
She was born on February 19, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to William and Mayme (Hill) Wuollet. Elma married Rudolph A. Carlson on November 14, 1945 in Minneapolis and following their marriage, they made their home on Long Lake. She was a member of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church formerly of Virginia. Elma loved spending time with her grandchildren, family events and bowling.
 
She is survived by: her children, Bette J. (Joseph) Prebonich of Mt. Iron, Charles W. (Donna) Carlson of Eveleth, Rudy T. (Sharon) Carlson of Tallahassee, Florida, Timothy J. (Andrea) Carlson of Lake Vermilion-Tower, Linda S. (John) Altobell also of Eveleth and Nancy A. (Randy) Haiman of Anoka, MN;  grandchildren,  Laura (Scott) Collins, Paul (Tammy Lehto) Prebonich, Steven (Deborah) Prebonich, Todd (Lora) Ramsey, Christopher Carlson, Drew (Melissa) Carlson, Nicole (Derek) Attebury, Rilee Jo (Mike Dotson) Haiman, Kyle and McHale Haiman; one sister, Agnes (Arley) Carlson of Rochester, Mn; numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rudolph (“Snoose”) on September 14, 2000, 10 brothers and sisters.
 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Salmela of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia. To sign the guest book online and to leave a memorial message, go to: www.cron-sheehy.com
