Carl Walter Davis
Carl Walter Davis, age 85, lifelong resident of Chisholm died Monday, July 5, 2010 in Heritage Manor in Chisholm. He was born July 6, 1924 in Chisholm the son of John and Minnie (Anderson) Davis. He attended school in Chisholm, and was united in marriage to Sadie Maxie on April 16, 1949 in Northwoods, IA. A veteran of the US Army, Carl served in Okinawa during WWII.
Carl worked as a heavy equipment operator for E. J. Goroni, Rolle Redi Mix, and for Hoover Construction, and retired in 1986. He was a member of the ‘49ers, and enjoyed fishing, and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Carl is survived by his daughter: Sheryl (Dennis) Benz of Mt. Iron; three grandsons: Garrett (Sarah) Benz, Dustin (Kiley) Benz, and Jonathan (Michelle) Benz; and four great-grandchildren: Gavin, Grant, Gage, and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Sadie in 2004; his brother: Ole Hammre; his sister: Lily Blair, and an infant sister.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 p.m. service Friday, July 9, 2010 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Brenda King will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
