Barbara Ann Riihinen
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm, with Rev. Fr. Fred Method celebrating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the mass at the church on Wednesday. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Chisholm Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.
Barbara Ann Riihinen, age 68, of Chisholm, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. She was born August 16, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Harold and Ann (Marko) Westphal. She was a 1960 graduate of Chisholm High School and had been a Chisholm resident since early childhood.
Barbara was united in marriage on Feb 9, 1963 in Chisholm to Charles R. Riihinen. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and former member of St’s Peter and Paul Church. Her life revolved around her family, especially when it came to meal time and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband: Charles R.; children: Chris Riihinen of Chisholm, Rich (Heather) Riihinen of Hibbing, Dale Riihinen of Bloomfield, IA, Vicki Riihinen of Chisholm; grandchildren: Alicia, Cherisa, Charles, Eric, Ryan, Jacob, Nicholas, Chelsey; special grandson: Kyle; great-grandson: Roerke; mother: Ann Westphal of Chisholm; special cousins: Kathy Michael and Joann Stehlin; other numerous cousins; special friends: Ruth Hill, Shirley and Ken Koester and her Hibbing Trap Club Family.
She was preceded in death by her father; and by a grandson – Taylor in 2010
