Anthony J. "Tony" Colangelo
Anthony J. "Tony" Colangelo, 90, of Virginia, formerly of Cotton and Biwabik, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. Michael’s Health and Rehab in Virginia.
Tony was born on February 4, 1920, in Biwabik, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Donatelle) Colangelo. He grew up and attended school in Biwabik, graduating from Horace Mann High School.
He served his country honorably in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was employed as a core sampler for U.S. Steel for over 30 years.
Tony is survived by his three sisters: Adeline Tobias, Minneapolis; Viola Kmett, Eveleth; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Earl) Chellew, Biwabik; several nieces and nephews, and his caregivers Cheryl and Larry Stauty, Cotton. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Amico (Rita) and Frank (Evelyn) Colangelo; and three sisters, Rose Colangelo, Ann (LeRoy) Guss, and Mary (Joe) Klune.
A Memorial graveside service will be held at 4 p.m, on Wednesday, April 28th at Lakeside Cemetery in Biwabik. Arrangements are with the Range Funeral Home of Virginia.
