Ann Johanna Blaske
Ann Johanna Blaske, 88, of Eveleth died Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Virginia Convalescent Center.
She was born on January 20, 1922 in Eveleth to Daniel D. and Mildred (Spanich) Jovanich. She married Herman F. Blaske on November 21, 1939 and was a lifelong Eveleth resident. Ann worked as a cook for the Eveleth Hospital and other places. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Eveleth and St. (Basil) Vasilije of Ostrog Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Chisholm. Ann was a member of the former Rebecca’s Lodge in Eveleth and treasurer of the Adams’s Hill Reunion Committee.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hayden (Dick Perala) of Lake Vermilion, Tower; three grandchildren, Rhonda (Todd) Paine of Aurora, Amy (Duane) Fuglie Childs of Milaca, Katherine (Brian) Fuglie Crowe of Grand Rapids; five great grandchildren, Zachary Gregorich, Landon T. Paine, Justin and Elizabeth Childs, Mishale and Tyler Crowe; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 1977; twin infant daughters in 1941, daughter, Beverly Fuglie in 1992, granddaughter, Roxane B. Hayden in 2000, brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Mildred Jovanich and brothers, Pete and Mike Rodosovich.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at United Methodist Church in Eveleth with Rev. Dorothy Bull as officiant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.
