The Ely Area Food Shelf will be open the third Tuesday, Jan. 17th from 12:00 to 6:00, lower level of the Frandsen Bank & Trust Bldg., (previously Queen City Federal), 1st Ave. entrance. Open at 11:00 for shoppers with special needs. After 11:00, all other shoppers can pick up their numbers for shopping later. New shoppers register when they come. The Forrest View Memory Care support group will hold on the 3rd Thursday of the month (except holidays) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Side Aspen Activity Room of the Forrest View Building, 605 17th Street North, Virginia. All family and friends are welcome to attend. The purpose of these meetings is to offer support resources and information to families and loved ones of those with Alzheimer’s and memory loss. Gamblers Anonymous Meetings: Gamblers Anonymous Meetings are not held to learn how to control their gambling, but rather to help the members learn to stop gambling. New members are always welcome.
